My Top Story of the Century.
titanic Giant white Star liner sinks after collision with iceberg on her maiden voyage, and 1800 lives were lost in Worlds greatest marine disaster.
Titanic was the one of the largest passenger steamships built at
Harland & Wolff in Belfast and the ship was going to be unsinkable.
Sadly it hit the iceberg and proved that it was not unsinkable.
It was
an important event because so many people died when the ship sank,
partly because of the lack of lifeboats, after the sinking no ship was
allowed to set sail unless there were enough lifeboats for everyone on
the ship. It was called one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters.
